The micro entrepreneurial skills and support by NLMET enabled these communities to become self reliant and to get out to the trap of debt. The freedom from debt and the ability to generate their own livelihood has had a transformational effect in the lives of these communities.

The victims of the tsunami were enabled to return to their occupation as fishermen with the provision of the boats and nets. This enabled them to return to being self reliant and helped them along the painful process of rebuilding their shattered lives.
