"LOVE THE LEPERS"
Our Trust provides weekly medical treatment and care for an entire community of lepers consisting of 400 families at Dahisar, Mumbai. Ten homes have been constructed and supplied to the leper community.
Need
Leprosy still carries a stigma in society that ostracises members of a community who are diagnosed with this disease. They can no longer participate in everyday life and lose their homes, family support structure and occupations. The Trust seeks to work with this disenfranchised community to reaffirm their value and help provide them with life skills in order to help overcome their emotional pain and rejection.
The Work
We began our work in Pushpa Vihar Colony Dahisar Mumbai
